The bilateral  relations between the State of Qatar and the Federative Republic of Brazil had been started since 05/11/1974, which followed  by the opening of the Embassy of the State in Qatar in Brasilia in January 1997 and then the opening of the Brazilian Embassy in Doha in February 2005 during the visit of Minister of Foreign Affairs in Doha.
Since then the high level visits continued between the two countries and the last visit for the former Brazilian President Dilma Roussef was in November 2014.
